Colour Challenge...what's that?

And I kind of feel that way as it has been FOREVER since I did a colour challenge over at Splitcoast. But I found the time and went for it.  At first I was wondering how was I ever going to make these colours work but thru the magic of wine and song, presto...this came to me!  Love this set by Taylored Expressions! 

So today I have the day off work to spend it with Joely. First we are off to a Stampede lunch, then to the grounds for rides and food, then to Taylor Swift concert tonight!  We are both looking forward to it!  I hope my stomache is ready!

I thought this week I would make something appropriate for the Stampede going on here! I have had this set from Close to my Heart for sometime and finally had a reason to use it!  The buckle and the belt idea is so cute and I used a Verve sentiment, of course!

Loonie Stampers Challenge #47

Look at this colour map done by Deanna, who picked the challenge this week as well!  Our dear Jewels has been taken over by Life and was unable to join us this week, we love you girl!  So Dee designed her own map, isn't it amazing!

 The Calgary Stampede starts today for 10 days and I LOVE IT!  So if I am a little MIA on posting comments to all your wonderful creations, fear not, I am thinking of you but unable to get to you as I may be under a hay bail or dancing on a table!  My husband hates this time of year but is so great as he does get a lot of calls from me and my girlfriends for a ride home!  Love you Ror!

Happy Canada Day!

We get a day off today up here in Canada and it is going to be a wicked day!  I thought I would show you a card I made for Christie over at Paper Pretties as she has been such a great new friend and I love all her stamps!  So I thought why not combine the card for us Canucks and Yanks for the July holidays!   You can't not love these two girls!  Seriously, I was smiling the whole time I made this card! 

And to celebrate today and the 4th of July, I thought I would give away some blog candy that Christie was so generous to give to me along with a few other things I had in my stash!

Mojo Monday Time!

Love this sketch, not crazy about my card!  You know what I mean...you start thinking 'this is going to be great' then after it is done you go 'I should of used the orange ribbon'!  The only good thing on this card is the Verve Stamps and also the new In-Colours from SU!  There isn't one in the new shades I don't love!  So I wanted to use them all but should of only stuck with two with he new Razzleberry Lemonade DP from SU.  Oh well, I have all year to play with the new colours!

Regan is the Looniest of all!

She gave us quite a challenge this week. She purchased a new comforter and loves it so much, it inspired her for this weeks challenge.  We had to make our own pattern paper with stamps and it had to be saffron and white!  Sounds easy enough doesn't it!!!  But I still had a brain fart when it came right down to it but was able to pull something off! 

I have had these birdies coloured and cut out since Easter and wasn't able to use them but didn't want to throw them away as they are so cute!  And they were already coloured with Saffron that I thought they would go perfect on the card!  So I went for it!  I asked Joely want to put on the card for the sentiment and this is what she picked.  But she also said that it had to have some buttons and picked them out for me! (love that kid!!)

Someone noted on their blog today that it was almost 6 months till Xmas!!!!   Didn't it just finish snowing here in Calgary???   But looking on my calendar I realized she was right!  Crazy!

Thank you Teacher!

I whipped these up this past week for my daughters teachers.  I love this set from PTI, it is so perfect!  I cased Heather's card again as I love this idea!   I keep forgetting to let my Kraft white dry so sorry about the smudges!   My use of my sewing machine is getting a bit better but sometimes it is fun just to go for it and not worry about perfection! 

     

Joely was very happy with what I did for her teacher's and I am sure she will take all the credit....LOL!

Loonie Stampers Challenge #45

This weeks pick was from my BFF Char!  And of course she had to use Vanilla, I swear she does it to DRIVE ME CRAZY!   I think I am the only one in the card planet though who doesn't like Vanilla!  All it is is White trying to be cool...won't happen!  LOL

I had some requests for Father's Day Cards at my office and my hubby's too!  So I have been busy whipping those up and figured I would try one with these colours. I have to admit when they were sitting on my table, I didn't feel the love!  But I do love how my card turned out!  Thanks Char!  You rock!
