Creative Chat with MFT - All About Pattern Paper

It's time for the MFT Creative Chat. The My Favorite Things Design Team Creative Chat is a monthly feature, where we are challenged to explore our creative spaces and share valuable organizational methods, tools, and shopping strategies with you. You'll be able to peek into our creative spaces, ask questions, and share your own ideas in the MFT forum. This month, we were asked the following questions:  

 

How do you store and organize your patterned paper?   

How do you store your scrap patterned paper? 

 

Let me start by saying I LOVE PAPER!!!  That is probably the one thing (other than stamps) that I spend most of my money on.  Not embellishments, not ribbon, not cardstock....pattern paper. It got to a point where even my daughter said 'MOM!!! You don't need anymore paper!!!' and if she noticed, it must of been bad  So this year I really tried only to buy stuff I NEEDED (add giggles here) and try and use up the paper I had, mostly 12X12.  I find I love the 6X6 size better especially for cards as the pattern is smaller.  So that is all I am buying now. But I have a lot of 12X12 to go thru. 

This is where I do all my crafting.  Across from where I sit is the couch where my DH and DD sit and we watch TV while I craft...which is a lot!  But at least we are together.  So when we started to do this Creative Chat, it gave me the incentive to organize a bit better.  Here is some of my re-orging of my space before and some after.

Now I have my paper area all on one side.  See my 12X12 paper on the left and on my shelf to the right, my 6X6, 8X8 and other paper pads.  My Big Shot and my cutter are all there along with my Die-namics and Nesty's.  I love how it is all organized and right there for me.

I can't take credit for this next idea as I got it from my friend Dana White who went to visit her friend fellow MFT gal Karen Motz who they then went and visited Jodi Collins.  She is the one who came up with this brilliant idea and even if she didn't, I used it and giving her the credit. I put a brown envelope behind the pad of paper and what ever scraps I didn't use, I stick it in there for later.  I find I am using more of the paper and not wasting. 

Well that is about all from my crafty area.  I can't wait and see what the other gals did and who knows, maybe I will be re-organizing my paper stash all over again!
