Creative Challenge Chat with MFT - Die-namic Storage

MFT has come up with a new monthly feature and we think it's something you'll really enjoy. The My Favorite Things Design Team Creative Chat is a new monthly feature, where we are challenged to explore our creative spaces and share valuable organizational methods, tools, and shopping strategies with you. You'll be able to peek into our creative spaces, ask questions, and share your own ideas in the MFT forum here.  This month, we were asked the following questions:  

 

How do you store and organize your Die-namics?  

Any fun or helpful Die-namics purchasing strategies you'd like to share?  

How do you store extra Die-namics die-cuts? 

 

This came at a perfect time as I had been wanting to re-organize my Die's and make them more accessible for me to create so this challenge rocked!

This is where I sit and create....while watching TV like True Blood or Castle or Supernatural or Fringe...yes, I like the wierd stuff!  I think that is why it takes me two hours to make a card as I have lot's of distractions!  See my DH peeking over on the right...he thinks he is so sneaky!  LOL 

This was my Die storage.  It was very full and very frustrating especially when I was looking for the perfect die to use on my card!

I use to have ALL my die's in this little drawer (yes, other companies ones too) mixed up together.  But I found I spent more time finding the one I wanted to use than actually creating with it.  And I knew I wanted them all out together to really SEE them and which one I wanted to use.  So this is what I came up with and it really is great, for me anyway!

It isn't that glamourous but it does the job!  I love that they are all right there for me to use. But now I have run out of room on that one side and will need to find more space. I have a another shelf right up against that one and have no room to move it elsewhere so I might be changing the location of my Die-namics .... especially after I see what the Design Team does in regards to storage.  I can't wait!!

You know how you have baskets and stuff on that book shelf? What about putting magnets on the back wall of the book shelf? Technically the are hidden but you would just have to pull the basket out to peek behind. Come organize my disaster of a craft room!! M....kay?

I store my dies how you used to except I have them seperated by company, I don't have nearly enough yet to worry about how else to store them lol. I love the new storage idea except my room isn't big enough and I'd have to worry about the dog walking off with them LOL!! Your scrappy area is awesome!

That's exactly how I had mine...EXACTLY, but with my small space, the part of the shelf that I had them on, became a pain to get to. Plus, I REALLY ran out of room, and fast. LOL
